Another fun filled week!
An Assistant to the President went on exchanges with us in Kahala this week for a day. We went tracting in some apartments next to the chapel. We took turns knocking doors with little success. Then we knocked on another door of a lady that was also uninterested, but before the door closed I saw that she had a bush of peppers on her porch. I said "Hey I see that you grow peppers! What kind are they?" Then she starts to happily say that they are Thai chili peppers. She says we can take some off the bush. Then she quickly went inside to get us a bag of them. But before she came back, the AP told me "Hey Elder Nielsen, eat one right now." Looking back, I knew he was joking but I didn't care. I ate it. I shouldn't have eaten it. I stared coughing and my eyes got teary
. Then when she came back I kept trying to talk to her and she said, "Oh you already ate one?" After we left her house I fell over to the side and took a water break
. I didn't throw up or anything, but man it was hot. And I still have a bag of them that I want to make chili out of.

It was midday right next to the beach and it didn't feel good at all. Me and Elder Thompson stayed at a bench at a park next to the beach while the Sister Missionaries went and gave flowers to strangers. Then afterwards we were walking to our car and some creepy guy came up to us muttering words and throwing mints at the ground in front of us. I was kind of confused so I picked them up and thanked him
. But then he kept following us so we promptly left to film the rest at the tab. Pretty creepy.

It was actually really cool because President and Sister Walker were also at church. They left early towards the end of the meeting, but as President was leaving he went right up to Barry(me sitting next to him) and said "Hi Barry!" He remembered him! Before Barry left we introduced him to some other members of the ward and we could tell he liked it.
I didn't watch the super bowl (obviously) but go rams!
We had some appointments with members teaching the Restoration lesson. We invited them to invite a nonmember friend over to have us share the same lesson. It's great to practice teaching the lesson and to remind how simple yet powerful the message it is. It's also great to hear the side of members when we teach it.
On Sunday we went to go visit a woman that missionaries met a few months ago whole street contacting. She tells us to call her Auntie Cindy
. She's so nice! She's a very devout Christian and goes to her own church but loves what we do. She casually asked us if we could give her a copy of the Book of Mormon?! She told us that most Christians know about members of our church, but don't actually know what we believe and she wanted to know! So we gave her a copy a restoration pamphlet so we'll see how that goes!
